Check out these easy tips for throwing the perfect last minute get together

Are you throwing a get together and you don’t know what kind of food to serve? It’s a party planner’s nightmare. But even an impromptu party can come off without a hitch with a little planning ahead. Once you’ve decided on a theme, you can decide on some easy appetizers and desserts to keep everyone happy.

Appetizers are great to serve at parties since you can have a variety of foods with a minimal amount of effort. Cucumber cups filled with smoked salmon and a cucumber dill sauce are easy to make ahead of time and taste delicious. Want a sweet appetizer that’s easy and healthy? Peel a couple mandarin oranges like Cuties and then dip the individual segments in chocolate and sprinkle with some sea salt. Your kids will love making and eating these treats.

Once you’ve settled on a theme you can start to pick out desserts to serve. Although it’s hard to believe, some people aren’t big chocolate fans so try to make at least one chocolate-free dish. You could whip up some fruit cups or an easy no-bake cherry cheesecake. Having several small desserts may sound like a lot of extra work, but if you plan carefully it will be easy and delicious.

If you have delicious food you’re going to be serving, you will need something to wash it down with. Punchbowls are all the rage these days and what better way to serve a crowd than a big bowl of your favorite punch? A simple mixture of white grape juice, lemonade and Sprite makes a delicious and easy punch. You could jazz it up with some flavored ice cubes, some spirits or a few scoops of your favorite sherbet.

Parties don’t have to be complicated or difficult and neither does the food and drink. With the right presentation of individual dishes or garnishes, you can successfully create an ambiance that fits your party’s theme precisely. And with the mood set, you and your guests can comfortably celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. And if you need help planning or executing your party, we are always here to help.
